Ready for more music?!
We’ve only just begun, and already we’re announcing another legendary name for next summer’s Roskilde Festival: The Cure!
Robert Smith and co. will celebrate 50 years as one of the world’s most influential and beloved rock bands with a special anniversary show on Wednesday 1 July on the Orange Stage. They’ll be among the very first acts to perform on our brand-new, larger main stage.
This will be a historic night with a band that has united generations of fans and created some of the most beautiful songs and defining albums in rock history.
Tickets are on sale now – and we’ve already announced Gorillaz, Ethel Cain, Tobias Rahim and 21 other acts. Are you coming?
You probably don’t need much of a history lesson here – because chances are, you’ve already heard timeless hits like “Boys Don’t Cry”, “Just Like Heaven”, “Friday I’m In Love”, “Close To Me”, “Why Can’t I Be You” and “Lullaby” – and the list goes on.
Maybe you’ve heard them on the radio. Maybe you’ve sung your heart out in your bedroom or at one of their unforgettable shows. If you have, you already know this is one you can’t miss. And if you haven’t, well, a quick recap won’t hurt:
Formed in 1976, The Cure helped shape the sound of post-punk and goth rock with a run of groundbreaking albums in the late 70s and 80s, including Pornography, The Head on the Door, and Disintegration. Over the following decades, they evolved into one of the most influential bands in modern music, bridging the gap between underground melancholy and stadium-sized emotion.
After a 16-year break between albums, they returned in 2024 with Songs of a Lost World – proof that their creative spark and emotional depth remain undimmed. The British legends continue to inspire new generations across genres.
The Cure have written themselves into Roskilde Festival’s history more than once – but this time will be something truly special. We can’t wait to celebrate 50 years of The Cure with you next summer.
