ABOUT THE TASK

Do you like being in the front line and want to contribute to a cleaner and greener festival? Then join our team of binfluencers – a volunteer job that makes a difference!

As a binfluencer, you will be right at the heart of the festival experience, walking through the camping areas with a small team to inform excited festival-goers about the various ways they can dispose of their waste, particularly educating them about waste sorting in their own camps and handing out bags for the purpose.

Specifically, your role will be to:

  • Help festival-goers sort their waste while they are in their camps.
  • Guide guests on how to sort their waste into the familiar waste fractions.
  • Ensure that all camps have the necessary waste bags so the waste is sorted correctly.
  • Advise guests on how to dispose of their waste properly.
  • Direct them to local sorting stations.
  • Encourage guests to take their camping gear home when they leave.

The job is 32 hours in total, spread over 4 shifts of eight hours. We aim to have you work two shifts before the music starts and two shifts during the music days. Shifts are usually scheduled between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. You can definitely join the team with your friends.

ABOUT YOU

  • First and foremost, you are passionate about creating a cleaner and greener festival.
  • You are friendly, approachable, and service-minded.
  • You enjoy engaging in conversations with others and thrive in an environment where things can sometimes get busy. On the other hand, you can also maintain a positive attitude during quieter periods.

ABOUT US

Team Participant Sorting and Recycling is an integral part of Roskilde Festival. The team consists of 10 year-round volunteers who work throughout the year to plan and develop initiatives aimed at increasing the sorting of waste for recycling and reuse at the festival. In addition, several hundred festival volunteers help turn these plans into reality and fulfill the goals during the festival. This is where you come in!

We have many years of experience with some waste initiatives, while others are brand new in our ongoing efforts to improve year after year and reduce the amount of waste on the festival grounds, sorting it so resources can be utilized in the best possible way. We hope you will join the team and contribute to making Roskilde Festival cleaner and more sustainable. In return, we will do our very best to create a great festival where you, as a volunteer, feel seen, heard, and appreciated – both for who you are and for the work you do.

Primarily, we walk around the area to ensure that everyone is doing well, call for assistance if needed, and help guests with their questions and challenges.

We keep an eye on the toilet areas, lock toilets that are out of order, and, if necessary, rinse them (though not perform a thorough cleaning).

We distribute trash bags to guests and encourage them to use these bags and drop them off at the waste collection points.

We have our own dispatchers and supervisors. They handle radio communication, task distribution, and requesting assistance (security and medical help). Supervisors are your point of contact in the field and assist with any serious situations and incidents.

ACCESSIBILITY

Our team offers following accessibility

ABOUT US

AIR Roskilde Wrestling Club is the local wrestling club, and all our profits go towards giving children and young people, especially those from vulnerable families, the opportunity to participate in our sport and, more importantly, to be part of our amazing community. The funds we raise allow us to offer activities that would otherwise not be possible. The children we support typically include vulnerable Danish children and refugee children from the Middle East and Ukraine.

Food, drinks, and social life in Basecamp
We provide you with free food and drinks during your shifts throughout the festival period in our base area. Additionally, drinks will be available for purchase at very reasonable prices. This year, we are especially focused on creating a great social atmosphere in our base, so you won’t want to be anywhere else!

Welcome meeting and shared camping
Before the festival, we invite all our volunteers to an info session via Teams, where we can meet and connect. If you cannot attend, we will arrange a meeting before the shifts start. We hope to once again offer camping in a closed-off area (exclusively for the Wrestling Club and Roskildejob).

ABOUT THE TASK

At the bars around Orange and Arena, we’ll be serving lots of draft beer and cocktails! That’s why no experience is necessary—our main requirement is that everyone is cheerful and service-minded.

There’s always a great vibe in the bar, and if customer interaction isn’t your thing, there are also behind-the-scenes roles where you help prepare drinks for the bartenders ahead of the concerts.

You can choose to work either 24 or 32 hours, and you and your friends can select the same shift packages so you can work together throughout the entire festival.

We’re also flexible when it comes to whether you prefer customer interaction or would rather help out behind the scenes. Our bars are located in front of the stages, so a certain level of noise is to be expected.

ABOUT YOU

The most important thing is that you are cheerful and service-minded, and we’ll teach you the rest.

You will work alongside at least one other 32-hour volunteer. You also have the option to sign up with a friend. Shifts will mostly take place during the daytime, so there is no night work, and you won’t miss the biggest concerts.

ABOUT THE TASK

Do you want to combine physical work with lots of social interaction and help give festival-goers the best possible experience? Then join Team Q – the most social volunteer role at the festival!

We’re looking for volunteers for the cozy Q camping area, located behind the Orange Stage. As a volunteer on the team, you’ll work 3 shifts of 8 hours each between July 1st and July 6th. There are three shift types (07:00–15:00, 15:00–23:00, and 23:00–07:00), and you should expect to try all three during the festival.

During your shifts, you'll work closely with other volunteers and take on a variety of tasks. These include manning gates and checking wristbands, answering guest questions, creating a positive atmosphere in the area, maintaining restrooms and showers, facilitating waste sorting, and chatting with guests to ensure a great vibe. You’re the first smiling face festival-goers meet – and the one they can always come to. So be the volunteer you would want to meet yourself!

ABOUT YOU

You must be 18+ years old and ready for physically active work. The job can be demanding, so you should be prepared to stay active and put in the effort during your shifts. No prior volunteer or festival experience is needed. Our managers and supervisors will be there to guide and support you if you have any questions or feel unsure about any tasks.

In return, we expect you to bring good energy and show up to your shifts with a smile, so we can have a great time together. We work as a team, support each other, and make sure both the guests and ourselves have an amazing experience.

ABOUT US

Since 2001, we’ve been responsible for creating a great environment for festival-goers in the camping areas at Roskilde Festival. We have many years of experience and also help plan various initiatives at the festival. The team behind Team Qare volunteers themselves, working all year to make the festival happen and to create the best conditions for our volunteers. We care about creating a cozy and supportive environment. That includes offering access to a private backstage area where you can relax, socialize, and store or prepare your own food (fridge, toaster, etc.).

As a volunteer with us, you support local scouting work that gives children and youth – regardless of economic background – the chance to join a community where they gain lifelong experiences and friendships. All proceeds from Team Q go to the scout groups 1st & 2nd Birkerød (The Danish Scout Association). The funds support activities and camps for the kids, as well as new initiatives like special needs scouting and family scouting.

ABOUT THE TASK

It’s all about reuse, and it takes place at the campsite—mostly when people are heading home. We’re called REUSEFUL and we work with the festival’s reuse profile.

So we’re looking for a bunch of great reuse enthusiasts who can tell treasure from trash, find it hard to accept wastefulness and indifference, and want to make a positive impact on the world.

  • We collect and sort abandoned items so everything ends up in the right containers
  • We pass valuable materials on to NGOs, designers, and artists
  • We leave the festival grounds as clean as possible, so reusable things don’t become waste

We work with pop-up stations where festivalgoers can drop off good stuff they don’t have the energy to bring home. We set up on Saturday and are on duty Sunday and Monday, after the festival. That’s when the NGOs come and collect the items. It’s a very meaningful task, and we have fun doing it.

ACCESSIBILITY

Our team offers following accessibility

  • We offer the possibility to sit down frequently during shifts
  • We offer tasks that don’t require reading or writing
  • We offer tasks that take place without noise and loud music
  • We offer tasks at a calm and steady pace
  • We offer the option to have a designated leader or volunteer buddy
  • We offer thorough and patient guidance until you feel comfortable in the task
  • We offer that your team leader can stay in touch with a family member or friend outside the festival, if needed

ABOUT YOU

  • You get a kick out of making the world a better place
  • You understand the importance of sustainability
  • And you’d like to have most of your free time while the music is playing, and take shifts in the days after

We’re also looking for people to drive our 6 vehicles and collect piles of good stuff for the warehouse. Some who want to manage the warehouse and distribute items to NGOs—and others who want to lead the team as supervisors. Lots of roles to choose from!

ABOUT US

We’re a campaign directly under Roskilde Festival—where reuse is a high priority. So not an independent organization. Meals are provided on Sunday/Monday at the festival, and we have a cozy base for breaks.

WANT TO JOIN US?

We’re looking for 75 awesome people.

So if this sounds like something for you, send us an email at frivillig.reuseful@roskilde-festival.dk.

We hope you’ll join us in creating a cleaner and more sustainable festival, where you’ll have the opportunity to take responsibility and make a difference.
