Ida Duelund DK

MONDAY 29 JUNE

A musical tribute to poetry and imagination with a special Roskilde Festival line-up

  • Monday 29 June

Bassist, composer and singer Ida Duelund is a true free thinker on the Danish music scene. Although she has often been placed in the jazz genre and received a Danish Music Award in 2025 as Jazz Composer of the Year, Ida Duelund is in no way limited by genres, freely seeking musical partners across generations and communities.

She has collaborated with artists as diverse as Baby In Vain, Jada, ML Buch, Barbro and the recently deceased jazz legend Marilyn Mazur, and with her experimental string duo Lueenas, she has thrilled fans of jazz, new composition music and post-rock alike with her expressive string sounds.

Her musical curiosity is also evident on her debut album as a solo artist, Sibo, released in 2025. With a team of outstanding musicians and an artistic foundation rooted in the legacy of surrealism, she offers a veritable explosion of creativity in an alternative songwriting universe. She herself calls the album a celebration of poetry and imagination.

We at Roskilde Festival would like to celebrate this with her, and when the versatile musician visits the festival, it will be a very special concert, where Duelund has carefully selected a group of musicians from very different corners of the Danish jazz and alternative music scene. Together, they will interpret her latest works in a musical collage, where the orchestra's improvisations are woven in and out between Duelund's compositions and songs. Come with an open mind for a great musical experience.
