The duo 100%Wet is an original addition to the Danish music scene with a self-invented genre that they themselves have dubbed hypergaze or drum'n'gaze. Here, noisy guitar riffs, dreamy indie and club beats are brought together in a unique combination with nods to shoegaze, grunge, acid house and drum'n'bass.
At the heart of 100%Wet are producers and guitarists Jakob Birch (The Lost Weekend, Lovespeed) and Casper Munns (Himmelrum, Drop, Splitscreen), who in 2022 came together over a shared fascination with mixing noisy indie rock and breakbeats. It was a combination that quickly attracted interest, and in 2024 the duo was signed by Crunchy Frog and released their debut single, "Lost Myself." The following year saw the release of their self-titled debut album, which garnered critical acclaim both at home and internationally. Among others, the album received a positive review from The Line of Best Fit, which attempted to describe the music's often unusual genre clashes with the words: "It's Mazzy Star meets Goldie meets The Cure meets A Tribe Called Quest."
So you can expect to be both challenged and thrilled when 100%Wet unfolds their musical universe. The sonic collisions between spherical guitar noise and breakbeats create an unpredictable space that opens up for both dreamy nostalgia and experimental breakthroughs.
On stage, the complex layers of the music are brought to life by a live band and a vocalist who unfolds the atmospheric and hazy vocals of the songs. An exciting new departure that unites fans of shoegaze and club beats, and one that we look forward to experiencing live at this year's Roskilde Festival.
