Spawner delivers unadulterated indie rock, where rattling guitars, driving drums and ethereal vocal harmonies draw the audience into a dreamy and emotional universe.
Although the band “only” consists of the three members Ella Moreno Risell, Johan Danø Hoffmann and Jonas Engell, they manage to create a grand sound, characterised not least by their close vocal harmonies. Harmonies that, inspired by folk and country music, allow a collective feeling to emerge from the individual vocals.
While the vocals possess a delicate melodic fragility, the music often leans towards punk, grunge, and shoegazer with cascades of distorted guitar noise, creating a fascinating contrast in the well-crafted songs. Spawner has also managed to capture the attention of the international press with their sound, with Clash Magazine highlighting the single "Air is Getting Stranger".
The single is also the title track on Spawner's stunning debut album, which was released at the end of 2025. The album clearly demonstrates that the three musicians have an exceptionally good grasp of alternative rock's interplay between noise and melody, and the songs are sure to get all noise-loving indie hearts pumping at Roskilde Festival.
