Sa_G has been called one of the foremost female voices on the Norwegian hip-hop scene, and with plenty of attitude, a raw underground sound and lyrics that in a mix of Norwegian and English exude loads of girl boss energy, she certainly shows how it's done.
The woman behind the stage name is actually called Gunhild Roel Jønnum, and Gunhild is also the title of her sensational debut album from 2025. Norwegian public service broadcaster NRK called the album "a show of force in Norwegian rap," and the reviewer drew comparisons to the best of Doja Cat's music in Sa_G's ability to switch between hard-hitting rap and lush R&B harmonies.
Even before the release of her debut album, there has been a lot of hype surrounding Sa_G, thanks in part to a series of strong singles and EPs, as well as notable performances at events such as the Oslo festival by:Larm, where her concert in 2024 was a huge draw.
Sa_G herself has stated that music and visual identity go hand in hand for her. Her flair for the visual is evident in her music videos, but it is also very much a passion she brings with her on stage, which is why you can expect musical power, confident rap and a visually accomplished show when the Norwegian rap star takes to the stage at Roskilde Festival.
