We – and you! – support youth psychiatry

16.11.2023Commitment

Ticket buyers and the Roskilde Festival Charity Society have collected DKK 500,000 for the Danish Red Cross Youth. The donation will improve the daily life for children and young people struggling with mental vulnerability.

Thanks to everyone who purchased a Making a Change ticket for the 2023 festival, we are now able to donate DKK 500,000 to The Danish Red Cross Youth's preventative and social efforts for young people in psychiatry.

Festival participants collected DKK 285,200 for the cause through their ticket purchases, and The Roskilde Festival Charity Society has chosen to round the amount up to DKK 500,000.

A sense of community and youth life
Now, the money will contribute to improving the daily life for children and young people struggling with mental vulnerability.

The Danish Red Cross Youth develops preventative initiatives so that fewer teenagers and people in their twenties end up in psychiatry.

The organisation also runs youth cafes at psychiatric departments.

The cafes offer a space where patients can hang out with peers and young volunteers. Here they can take a break from illness, and for a while, the gloomy thoughts can be replaced by a sense of community and youth life.

Volunteers Sille and Jakob make a difference
In the film below, you can meet two volunteers at The Danish Red Cross Youth, Jakob and Sille, who talk about how they try to make a difference for other young people in a difficult everyday life.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the donation.

In 2024, you can once again buy a Making a Change ticket, which supports the Danish Red Cross Youth's preventative and social efforts for young people in psychiatry. With the Making a Change ticket you donate DKK 200 which goes in full to the Danish Red Cross Youth.

You also have the option to donate 200 DKK the Danish Red Cross Youth when you purchase a one-day ticket. Choose 'Making A Change Donation' as an add-on.
