A Good YearDK

MONDAY 29 JUNE

Music and visuals come together in a deeply original and cinematic art pop expression

  • Monday 29 June

In a universe that is both accomplished and experimental, the new Danish duo A Good Year creates poignant connections between sound and vision.

The project is the brainchild of drummer Tobias Laust (Liss) and film director Albert R. Hildebrand, who together unfold an original vision between cinematic moods and alternative pop, where ambient soundscapes, pitched vocals and acoustic guitars unfold in an encounter with a visual cosmos of mysterious figures, natural sceneries and digital aesthetics.

A Good Year made their breakthrough with their debut work Sofina (2024), which was released both as a soundtrack album and a film, highlighting how closely the visual and musical elements are intertwined for the duo. Since then, A Good Year, signed to the forward-thinking Copenhagen label Escho, has released a series of powerful singles in collaboration with names such as Horse Vision, Helena Gao and Late Verlane, and their distinctive audiovisual expression has attracted attention both at home and on the international scene.

This is understandable, as a concert with A Good Year is an extraordinary experience, where the visual and the musical, the organic and the electronic, truly come together in a captivating harmony. At this year’s Roskilde Festival, you can step into their universe as it envelops you and opens up a space between stage and screen.
